1:1 Teaching Assistant: Fixed Term until 3rd April 2020 with the possibility of extension [Scotland]

Shifts: Hours of work: 40 per week, term-time only.

Job Type: Job Type: Full-time (Term-time only), Fixed Term until 3rd April 2020 with the possibility of extension depending on funding.

Salary Scale Salary Scale – £17,076 - £18,500 depending on experience.

Spark of Genius Ltd operates small therapeutic residential homes and schools throughout Scotland for young people who need a variety of supports. We educate young people in our schools who cannot sustain a mainstream educational placement. We employ a 24 hour approach to the curriculum, providing continual support and guidance for our young people.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to work on a one to one basis to assist the education team at our school in Musselburgh, to effectively support our young people to progress with their learning and make positive behaviour choices.

You will be required to work as part of a team, to create an environment, where young people between the ages of 11-16 who encounter social, emotional, behavioural and educational difficulties feel secure and can achieve their potential.

You should also have an ability to deal with difficult situations and make appropriate decisions in line with the policies and procedures of the learning centre, and be willing to undergo training as required.
