King Edwin school is a small independent school set in stunning grounds in Norton village, and hosting a range of strategies and approaches to support young people with SEMH needs and challenges in preparing for the adult world. The school offers education to those aged 6-18 with an Educational Health and Care Plan. The school is particularly keen to improve educational outcomes and life chances for those who have had adverse childhood experiences and to help to address the gap in post school success for young people who are looked after.

To this end, the school would like to appoint an Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator, to lead on delivery of therapy for emotional resilience development and to support the school in further developing its provision. The right person for the role will be keenly aware of the challenges experienced by young people with SEMH, those who are looked after and those who have experienced trauma, and will be keen to support them in overcoming these and developing the increased level of resilience needed to develop into confident and happy adults.

In return for offering 100% commitment and bringing your passion for young people, your drive to support them in reaching for high aspirations and your caring nurturing nature to the role, we offer enhanced training and development packages, a kind, supportive and nurturing environment, the opportunity to lead and develop your own area of work and the support of a committed team of staff and leaders. We believe it is an honour to work with our students and team members, and this is a view that is shared by all staff members.

For an informal discussion, please contact the school to arrange an appointment with Lorna Mclean, School Principal (01642 366610) BEFORE 10 August. Requests after this date will not be accommodated.

Please Note - as an organisation, we do not accept CV’s.
