King Edwin school is a Good school (Ofsted 2021). We are proud to share our Outstanding rating for personal development (Ofsted 2021) and our relentless drive to achieve Outstanding in all areas.
We are a growing school, offering creatively designed education, therapeutic services and a warm, supportive family ethos which encourages our 80+ young people to flourish. Our staff are our most valuable resource, and to that end we are currently recruiting a highly experienced, gifted SEN teacher with an understanding of SEMH needs to work at the school and grow our King Edwin family.
The school ethos of Kindness, a Growth Mindset, Resilience and Personal Responsibility are central to our work, and we are looking for a very skilled individual with a proven track record in SEN teaching at either Primary or KS3. The curriculum for our students stretches from Pre KS1 for some children to Upper KS3 for others, so a good knowledge of curriculum and experience in planning and delivering a range of subjects in particular maths or English and science or humanities will be required.
In return, the successful candidate will be welcomed into our King Edwin family and work with our wonderful students and their families, in a setting that includes a range of services and opportunities:
· ground-breaking approaches to sleep management, ADHD and trauma via our specialist therapeutic provision,
· a learning environment including animals, farm access and regular offsite curriculum leading to the Duke of Edinburgh award
· a good academic diet leading to our KS4 students taking a range of GCSE subjects.
· vocational opportunities through our Alternative Provision
The successful candidate will be joining a school where teamwork is of the highest quality and will benefit from exceptional staff development and wellbeing opportunities. An informal chat and visit to the school are welcomed. Please contact Anne Serplus on 01642 366610 to arrange this.
