Cook/ Housekeeper [England]

Spark of Genius Ltd is a high-quality provider of specialist care in small therapeutic residential homes and education establishments throughout England and Scotland for young people with a diverse range of social, emotional and mental health needs.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced cook to work in a residential environment specifically for young people between 8 and 16 years old with social, emotional and behavioural difficulties. You will be required to plan menu’s incorporating well balanced and nutritional meals and be responsible for ordering supplies and budgeting. You should have good organisation and communication skills, able to interact well with colleagues and young people, be able to use your own initiative, work as part of a team, flexible approach to work and good organisational skills. You will be responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen and other designated area’s maintaining high standards of hygiene by adhering to company policies and procedures including HACCP and COSHH. You will also be required to have knowledge of Health and Safety requirements surrounding the cooking and preparation of food and food hygiene knowledge. A food hygiene certificate is desirable although not essential, however, if you do not hold this qualification, you would be expected to attend this training in post along with any other mandatory training required for the role.
