We are recruiting for a Cook to join our team at Spark of Genius (Skypoint School, Clydebank)

Spark of Genius are a leading provider of education and residential care throughout the UK offering individualised pathways to empower and enable children and young people. We have several small residential homes, which runs 365 days a year, for children, and young people

The homes and schools cater for vulnerable and in some instances challenging children and young people. Our homes and schools provide a therapeutic environment to support children and young people who have a variety of needs.

You will be required to plan menu's incorporating well balanced and nutritional meals and be responsible for ordering supplies and budgeting. You should have good organisation and communication skills, able to interact well with colleagues and young people, be able to use your own initiative, work as part of a team, flexible approach to work and good organisational skills.

You will be responsible for the cleanliness of the kitchen and other designated area's maintaining high standards of hygiene by adhering to company policies and procedures including HACCP and COSHH. You will also be required to have knowledge of Health and Safety requirements surrounding the cooking and preparation of food and food hygiene knowledge. A food hygiene certificate is desirable although not essential, however, if you do not hold this qualification, you would be expected to attend this training in post along with any other mandatory training required for the role.
